Storms Never Last - John Hughey on YouTube

Post by Bill Ferguson »

I have just uploaded a video of one of the greatest players of all time, my friend, John Hughey.

This was John's first visit to the Smoky Mountain Steel Guitar Jamboree in 2000.

You will quickly understand why many players try to copy John's unique sound, but none can make it sound the way John does.

John is such a great player, as you say Bill he has that falling effect, which is so natural, and we can only copy.

Thanks for posting

Went to hear John Hughey and Joe Wright this weekend in Lake Whales Florida. What a treat to hear such fine steel players. Both true musicans and friendly personalities.

Bill, Thank you so much for these videos. This is history and you make it possible for all to enjoy. John plays so good with such taste and always in tune. What a player. What a nice man also. He always has time for everyone. He's a keeper, Bobby
