My Epiphone's pickup sounds really nice, but the output is pretty weak. Of course, I'm comparing it to my Ricky horseshoe, which I know is going to be hotter, but still, I'm wondering if it needs rewound, or maybe a 'shot' of that electro shock therapy I hear about, where the mags can be zapped?
I have no idea how all that works, and maybe these p'ups are just that way? It's one of those blade style p'ups from that eara, looking sort of like a Charlie Christian, but without the angled ends (rounded).
I just realized, I suppose I should see if I could raise it a bit closer to the strings, too, and see if that helps the output. I DO like the sound. It's bright, which I don't care for, but I roll back the highs on the amp (no tone knob on the guitar), and it sounds really sweet.
Thanks!
