Bigsby sound clips,

I have one clip here and four more on my web site.
This is played on A 1951 triple neck Bigsby Ser. number 2-2-51.
The guitar was built for 16 year old Arnold Nelson, western swinger in Vancouver B.C.

It's too bad you can't hear this live because we really had to cut the quality down a lot to make it work on the web. The quality of this guitar still has a way of coming through.

That sounds amazing and the other clips on the site are great as well. What tunings do you have on the first and 3rd neck?

Bill, they are all C6th, but have different bass strings from the 5th string down. Do you think I love this guitar?

It is an amazing sounding instrument. Bobbe, is it for sale, or is it your personal steel? Or someone elses?

Bill, it's one of the three I have collected,it's first owner was Arnie Nelson.

My other two are doubles. One was Johnny Siebert's, the other belonged to someone named, "Sunny". I've never been able to find out who or where he/she is. This guitar is a wood neck exactly like the Bud Iaasac guitar now owned by Jack Hammond in Indianapolis.
If you'd like a Bigsby, they do come up for sale once in a while.
I've seen at least six on E-bay in the last two years. All seemed like great deals to me.

The only thing I found wrong with that clip was,,,YOU FOLDED YOUR ARMS TOO DAMN QUICK.

I was showing my discontent for the lack of attention I was getting from the camera man. He thought he was supposed to leave the camera on for the rest of the day it seems!
This was shot at six AM, so I'm happy it even came out at all.

It's only common if you have put your hand in a industrial table saw like I did in '68.
I think it helped my playing, been thinking about modifying my right hand now,
but, wow, did it ever hurt! For a long time!

No, I won't be modifying my right hand, I hope.

Bobbe, I believe your Bigsby sounds much, much better than a Fender 400. Do you have a Fender 400 handy for a sound comparison?

Hey Bobbe:

Those clips are on my hard drive forever!!!! I notice that you played all of the Travis stuff on the middle neck. Please tell me the tuning of this neck. (you said the 5 on down are different on the three necks) I can kinda pick some Travis on a regular axe but would like to try it on the steel. (in the back room only, of course).

I always just LOVE the Tone of the Bigsby(yes I can hear it on the other side of the delay..ha.."get rid of that"..ha..)and your playing is always exceptional as you are a Master of Tone and Touch my friend.

Sounds great, Bobbe. Stuck your hand in a table saw? Yow... that's exactly what I was always afraid of doing, my first job was in my Dad's cabinet shop. I avoided the table saw but later stuck my left hand inbetween a '67 BSA Hornet 650 and a Datsun pickup truck instead. With age it's getting slower on guitar but still fine for steel, but I can't play like Bobbe...

Bobbe, I think I already know the answer to this question but want to ask you anyway cuz I might be wrong... I mean there's gotta be a first time, right?.... ha...

Is there any other steel guitar ever built or being built now that sounds very much like a Bigsby?
