Will alternative Quick Time work with IPOD

Post by Gary Pederson »

I have Quicktime installed only because I have an IPOD. If I replaced it with the alternative Quicktime could I still do all the IPOD stuff?

Gary:

I have never used an Ipod, but I would guess you would do fine with Quicktime alternative.

I use Quicktime alternative with Apple's I-Tunes player to play back mp3s without any problems. You could always reinstall the real Quicktime if it didn't work out.

Fellas,

Can you use QT or alt.QT to UPLOAD songs to an Apple iPOD?

I have a friend who comes over with his new Apple iPOD and wants many of the songs I have on file, but I have to install iTunes in order to upload any music. I don't care to keep iTunes on my PC (around 50MB) and installing/uninstalling is a chore.
I already have QT on the PC, and so that is why I'm asking.

Thanks all.

I don't know for sure, but from what I've seen, on other forums, you must have the iTunes program.

I think you're right, Jack. Guess I'll just have to grin and bear it.

BTW, thanks, also, for the tip on QTAlternate in another thread. I went and removed regular QT, and installed the alternate version. I feel much better for this.
