I have had luck with a bar droped on brick by using a buffing wheel...go real slow & take your time.

Buy a small can or jar of a "top quality" metal polishing compound. You can polish your bar until it shines like a brand new chrom bar once again.

It depends on how bad the 'scratch' really is and what the bar is coated with, or not. Good luck.

I used "Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish". I put a dab on a buffing wheel on my grinder, it did pretty well. Probably any rubbing compound or jewelers rouge will work.

I'm not so sure small scratches do much to the sound of a bar. I use them till they're scratched up as hell and then buy a new one.

But I ain't saying what yet...

Rather than scratches, I have a hairline crack developing. It is still smooth over the surface, but can anything be done?

Aloha, Smile
