The clapping is for Wayne after he starts his solo. It must show how much people miss predominant pedal steel in modern country music. I could be wrong.

Martina came to eastern Ky last summer
and I missed it, I could have met Wayne.
I can't remember now why I didn't go

Wayne is truly a great player. And that sound from the Carter is great, I think wayne uses a POD ???
