Sounds great Basil. I'll bring a tape recorder.
I haven't bought my airline ticket yet. I'm waiting till things settle down a little at work so that no unpredictable problems occur in my absence that my assistant can't handle. (By the way, it's off the subject but my assistant comes from Lubbock, Texas, and used to know Buddy Holly in her early years.)

Jamie, Alan and whoever, As soon as we've completed our move to a new house, I'll have an 'Open Day' when all and sundry can congregate, participate, gesticulate and generally cogitate.
It will be great to be able to take some of the guitars out of the cupboards they are residing in at the moment.

Just as a silly point of interest, in the 50's there were at least 10 PRO Hawaiian Guitar players and countless semipros and beginners in the Birmingham area.
There were 5 full time Hawaiian groups and countless Hawaiian and Steel orientated broadcasts made from the BBC Broad Street Studios, especially Workers Playtime, and many support sessions to the Midland Light Orchestra as well as Night ride (early 60's).
Here is some of the BBC Night ride stuff :-

And some fro 1948 - 1960
