MP3 of my Fender 400

Post by Russ Tkac »

Playing my Fender 400 to a backing track of Yesterday. A bit like steel guitar karaoke.

Boy howdy Russ,
Just seems that certain tunes were written for "that Fender classic sound",,,,and BTW, you nailed it pardner.
Great job Russ.

Nice job, Russ! Lots of skill and emotion in your playing, and the 400 sound is totally in synch with it.

Thanks Chris. I always loved how Sneaky Pete played this one. Image

Thanks guys. I was pleased with the tone of the Fender even though I couldn’t find an adapter for my better mike so I used a Shure Hi-Imp mike that I bought in 1971 and hung it over my Pro-Reverb that was in a closet by the sump-pump. No high tech studio here. :)

John, did you get that Trilogy tailpiece for that Green Machine?

Lovely Russ.. That was a long scale 400 correct??.. Just had that sound... I sold my short scale because it was too thin sounding.. Didn't have the near tone I just heard... In any case, that was a VERY nice piece you played.... bob

Nice, Russ, very Fender-y tone too... may I ask where you got the backing track? I have a midi of Yesterday that's really awful but I couldn't find anything better.
