Sandy Miller, performed at the Royal Sands Hotel during the week of 4-8-06 and knocked the audience out with her great rendition of "Big Spender". Sandy then appeared at the Royal Carribean and did a great, great job with her "All That Jazz". No Steel guitar but the karaoke backround of the great Nelson Riddle. Sandy is a great vocalist and a great entertainer with stage presence that cant be beat.
I was able to do a duet with her husband Richard and we did "Elvira". Richard took the prize as I was groping for the lyrics.
We had a bunch of fun and I want to thank Chubb and his beautiful wife Trinity Houston for their hospitality, It was a great experience for me to see for the first time ever, the showmanship and greatness of Sandy.
I am a steel player and have been for over 50 years and I can tell you Sandy wanted me to perform but the instrument rental facilty in Cancun was not able to get me a guitar to to my liking. So it was for the best as Sandy really "WOWED" the crowd. Two glorious weeks from April 8th until the 23rd and I had a great time as well as those who were stunned by the greatness of my buddy Sandy.
I am dammed PROUD of Sandy.
Thank you, all of you.
jOdy edited to say that Sandy will return in December and I pray that I will have my Fender Quad with me.

Jody-That sure is a nice website that Rick has setup for you, that boy has got talent.
I was in that fender garage in 1957. I was looking around in California for a new career as I sold my Music store in Michigan.
They had one fender Steel in there. no one was around, and my wife was in the car out front, and we were on our way to San Francisco, So I left.
I was hoping to meet someone there and was looking for a job as maybe a consultant or something. I was surprised at how small it was....al

Jody,
I have just visited your bio for the umpteenth time, and just as with all the other times, I feel privileged to know and call Jody Carver my friend, a musician who has played with, recorded with, and personally known so many of my heros in the music world.
I give thanks that you have been recognized for your talent and contribution to the music world during your lifetime, rather than after you are gone as is the case of so many worthy musicians. Your induction into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame is the ultimate award for your career.
Your credits are such that now you can just sit back and enjoy your past accomplishments and know that you have done well in your lifetime.
Take care of yourself my friend; and Charlotte, Metoo (who is now 100 in human years), and Julie (Charlotte's cancer rehab friend), send our best wishes to you.

Gene thank you. I was there at the right time and the right place. There are many others worthy of induction into the SGHOF with as much and more talent than I.
As much as I appreciate being inducted, it was anti climatic as you know I lost my mate a few weeks later. And thank you for that wonderful photo of Marilyn and myself embracing, that is a photo that is on the wall in our bedroom and I treasure it and you for being the friend that you are.Yourself and Charlotte are loved by myself and my family. And the best to your pups from mine.
Be well Cowboy
