Thanks, Al man what a Music road you have traveled, I will have to visit your WEB again, I truly enjoyed meeting you there, I was just a commercial sideman that grew up with the west coast gang, started playing the Joints there in 1943, age 17, Fiddle and home made lap steel, like you I found it payed more than working at what factory jobs I could get, or working as a transient farm worker, Anyhow,I grew up with, and picked with many who went on to the top out of that gang, here is a WEB page a friend built for me, you can get an idea where I'm coming from http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pageartist.cfm?bandID=261574

Hi Jim Thanks,I'm finding, as I expected, some really nice folks in this forum, Never met a Steel Player I did not like, and enjoy swapping tales with, I went to your WEB site, and listened to some great pickin, read your Bio, Intresting, I noticed Bobby Black in there, Bobby, and His Bro.Larry, was part of the old gang I grew up with in, San Jose CA, Sorry to say, Larry passed on a while back, Pee Wee Whitewing was also one of the gang, and Bob White, Leroy Jones, Sneaky Pete, Of course ,Roy Nichols, and Norm Hamlett, Just to name a few Steel players, I found that playing Fiddle, and Steel, I could always get a job. I also remember meeting Bobby Lee, out there some place,
Dean Markley helped me buy my first S 10 Emmons which I have played for, over 30 years
when Dean had His first small Music Store in Santa Clara, CA, A lot of water under the bridge, and lost contact with most of the gang since retiring back home in Arkansas
