Herbie emailed me: <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">quote:</font><HR><SMALL>been looking around your site, could spend hours in there, nice job.
I'm Just wore out and reminiscing at age 79.
I admire your work , keeping the old steel players going out there.
will have to spend more time on your forum to get acquainted in there,
here is a page of my steel playing, just trying to keep the head and hands
working together, and leave a few tracks out there, to say "I been There, Done that" If you can use the page you are welcome to go for it.
might help some new students find the old style that has stuck with me
for 60 years </SMALL><HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Question, Al, Also anyone else who reads this, What was the first Tune You learned, and did you play it at most gigs ? I lucked into my first paying gigs in 1944,with a home made Lap Steel,E tuning, and had learnt, "The Steel Guitar Rag" The only tune I could play easily, The rest was just commercial back up, Also learnt early on, ( Less Is More ) for the audience, That fit me fine in the Dinasour Days, Then came the Pedal Steel, I wanted to toss in more, and found that did not go over well, backing up the Vocalist, But playing the few up tempo swing tunes, and swaping rides with the Lead Guitar Man,and Fiddle, could rase the roof,
