Zum Dobro Simulating stick on pickup

Post by Gary Sill »

Is a stick on pickup that adhers to the steel neck near the normal pickup, and an adapter box that plugs into the plug in at the end of the guitar. Bruce sold me this several years ago, used little, removed from my steel and just sitting waiting for someone wanting a dobro sound for their steel for special effects, can turn on and shut off and have normal sound of the steel.
Great condition, will ship worldwide.
$125 plus shipping. Paypal accepted

Those units were made by Chuck Abend, in Kansas City, MO, and sold by Bruce. Chuck posts on the forum occasionally.

From what I understood, Bruce had too much to do with the steels to get into accessories and also the Goodrich MatchBro's sort of took over the dobro emulator market.

Hey Brendan -
I have been using one for a few years and I think it works great. It has a little less output than your regular e9 pickup but that's no big deal. I hard-wired it onto my Emmons with a switch and now there is no need for the plug-in switch box.

I have a mounting bar on the E9 neck of my Zum D-10. I believe this mounting bar is for the Dobro simulatior attachment.
This is something I will never use, so if anyone is interested, I can e-mail pictures of it to you, and you can have the mounting bar for free if you pay the shipping. I will remove it next time I change the E9 strings.
