That would be Sonny Garrish. I like it, too.

Red Steagall is one of the nicest guys in the business. Had the pleasure of doing a couple of shows with him in the 70's. Jody.

Any idea who would have been playing steel with him on the road, back in the mid-1970s? I have some good pictures of the band from back in those days and I believe I have some good shots of the steel player. I'll see if I can find them and post a picture here.

Lee, from South Texas

One of my favourite albums of all time also, I highly recommend it to anyone who likes traditional country music.

Red is one of our hometown boys, and not only is he a great entertainer, he's a humble down to earth gentleman. I have listened to Red since he came on the scene, and that steel guitar of Sonny's well need I say more, check out the steel pickin on Red's Truck Drivin man, even if you don't like trucker songs, this is a must listen, Sonny tears it up, one of the best steel players in my opinion. Gary Carpenter (another home town boy) played with Red for about 7 years on the road, yet another great steeler. Red can pick those steel players better than they pick football players in the NFL, and Red loves the sound of the steel guitar as is evident in his music.

Red had a steel player in the 70's that was a real good player, Can't think of his name , but he was with Red and the Coleman County Cowboys a long time. Jody.

Jody - As I recall, this guy had curly hair and played a Dekley guitar. Ring a bell?

James Wood was playing with the Coleman County Cowboys in the 70's, maybe it was him...?
