Hello everyone, my name's Travis and I'm pretty new to PSG. I'm 18 and wishing I'd been playing this ZB I got for my entire life! This board seems like it's got such a nice group of people I felt like I needed to introduce myself...

Travis,

Let me be the first to say welcome! So great to hear that you're playing the pedal steel at 18! You're gonna be one hell of a steel player if you stick with it. And a ZB? You're already rockin'.

Enjoy your time on the forum.

Travis, Welcome to the forum! You'll love it here. I was eighteen when I started playing the pedal steel guitar too. I've got cerebral palsy, but I love playing the steel guitar. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10-aka "Redgold Beauty"

Chris and Brett, thanks for the kind welcome! I really appreciate it. Even though I'm only 18, I already wish I'd started younger; it's such a fun addiction! I wanted to learn an instrument that would be a new challenge, so I figured I'd take a crack at the pedal steel, and sure enough it is a challenge! But I'm having as much, if not more, fun than when I learned to play guitar, so it's definately a good challenge! Thanks again.

Welcome, Travis. I'm 50 and thrilled to see teenagers working with this great instrument. Save your money now for a trip some Labor Day weekend to Scotty's International Steel Guitar Convention in St. Louis. As you can tell from a lot of the recent buzz on The Forum, it's a big time.

Travis: your going to cause a lot of 'heart attacks', you know you should not start on steel till your at least in your late 30's!! It does my heart good to see an 18 year old learning to play steel, if you have any questions, you can ask these guys on the forum for help, they [including me] will be there for you.
