"Wild Mountain Tyme", I've never heard another cut show off what the E9 tuning is all about better than this one.
For C6 I always like "The Great Stream" because it's impossible to play!!

Trust me, Roger, the album is superb, with Buddy at his best. Actually, the correct title of the album is: "You Don't Know Me - The Songs Of Cindy Walker" (sorry for any confusion over this - caused by my stating the "tribute ... " nonsense in my earlier post

).

The choice of material and the production is excellent; Willie sings the songs with great feeling; the other musicians (apart from Buddy, there's Johnny Gimble and Brent Mason - need I say more?). The whole album is beautifully played: the title track is a gem; as is "Don't Be Ashamed Of Your Age" (which I should really take notice of!) - this track is one which swings like a demon.

I guarantee you won't be sorry if you buy this, Roger.

I was at Buddy's house this past Monday and he played me a new bossa nova he had written. It was so new, it didn't have a name, yet.

Pretty nice tune, Maestro! Wish I would've had a tape player along...

It'll have to serve as a substitute for missing yet another ISGC. There's only one thing worse than missing St Louis - that's missing St Louis when Buddy's playing!

I'm a very lucky boy, though, to have had fifteen weeks of well-paid work - even if the gig DOES end on Labor Day...

Ernie, I'm very envious of you listening to Buddy's new bossa! I imagine he'll be playing that at Scotty's this weekend. What do you think? I so wish I was there! At least it's raining and miserably grey here, to help lift me out of my "no-Scotty's" depression!

Roger, thanks for taking my advice! It's good to know that you're still open to new ideas! (Just like me!)

It's difficult to think of an adjective that adequately describes the pleasure that I get out of listening to and watching Buddy play. It's also impossible to narrow down and pick the "Best of" since everything Buddy's ever played on for the last 50 odd years has knocked me out! Keep it coming Buddy. You never cease to amaze me.

I have a Buddy cut on tape, he resolves to just one single note and holds it. That one note speaks volumes in tone and touch and expression. Tone to the bone goes for everyone else, Buddy has something extra special when it comes to that catogory.
