I dunno, I watch an hour or so every now and then....
Sorry, I couldn't resist that wise crack.
Keep on pickin'!

If you like to watch the RFD channel on Direct TV then tune in for the Midwest Country Show. Joe Savage from Minneapolis seems to be getting alot of TV exposure these days.
But if you can settle for the old U-Tube stuff, heres yer chance to check me out!

The widest exposure is probably Gaylon with Gretchen or one of his peers in current country bands (and I do think they are country) given the spots on late night talk, Regis, Today Show, etc. etc. I doubt cable re-runs of classic country have 25% the viewers that these shows do.

Well I have been a member of the forum since its inception, post infrequently, and have never bothered to disagree with anyone until tonight. And I don't know why I feel compelled to rebut this one!
First, let me say I wish my cable company carried RFD because I would surely like to hear Joe Savage and some of the other classic stuff on there.
BUT, my cable TV company doesn't carry RFD and a review of their web site indicates that none of the top 5 cable companies in America do either. Dish and Direct TV are relatively small outfits compared to the big cable operators. So unless someone has the market stats to prove otherwise, I'll stick with my statement that Gaylan, James Pennebaker, Chad Udeen, et al will be seen by more viewers in one GMA or Letterman appearance than Joe will be seen in a month including reruns in the tier 2 and 3 cable markets where RFD is shown.
Good night,

Hey Jim. I wasn't gonna get involved in this but....Let me just say first, I appreciate you watching the show and your vote of approval on my playing, but I think this whole topic is just plain silly. What does it matter? (who's on TV the most) To tell you the truth, (not that I don't enjoy the attention and all) I've felt embarrassed about this show being broadcast all over the country considering the quality of the performances. (mostly mine) Can we just drop the subject? I don't really want to be in the middle of it. Thanks.
