How does a 4/4 shuffle make you feel inside.

I am another 36 year old shuffle addict. I actually pity people who have never given it a chance as they don't know what they are missing.
Just got a CD yesterday of Freddie Harts earlier material from the 50's & 60's which includes some of the best shuffles I have heard ; "Down to my Last Dime" is among my favourite songs.
Sorry to drift of topic but anyone who likes this music should listen to Country Shufflemania" on Live 365 internet radio which plays some of the more obscure shuffles.

A good shuffle has a feeling of bouyancy that just floats me away.
There was a video out a while back called "Lost In The Shuffle". I believe the singer works in George Straight's band. I thought it should have been a big hit.
Brian Sklar says "There's only two kinds of music; Shuffles and all that other "stuff". (I cleaned up his quote a little.)

Hello my name is Chuck and I am an addict.
I love 4/4 swing shuffles. Having played with the same band now for 25 years, everyone in the group likes them as well. Been the last 5 years at the VFW in Cedar Grove, GA. and still playing it there. We have played over 2000 gigs since we started and we still do the old stuff. Old country, old rock 50's/60's and some new stuff like Gretchen Wilson (we have two girl singers). Theres nothing like
Taters "Another Bridge to Burn"
Farons "Hello Walls"
not to mention almost all of Ray Prices stuff. And too many others to mention.
A 4/4 shuffle makes me want to say "hot d@mn now that's country."

Bobbe,
Now who put you up to this? They should know better than to say "I wonder how Take Five will sound if played in shuffle 5/4", when you are in the vicinity!
Have you started the project yet?
Regards,
Nic

I just love playing shuffles. A few in a row are great and a four hour job is not complete without a few. Sorta like food without salt (or Tabasco). But too much of a good thing is not good and I do get tired of playing shuffles endlessly. Give me variety, always.
I feel the burning from the flames already!

Sept 2004, St. Louis, ISGC.......Jake Hooker, Justin Trevino, Amber Digby, and Bobby Flores strung out shuffles, one after another, starting at 1 am. I wish I were still there listening.
Just for fun......play Bobby Flores' version of 'One More Time'. It starts out sounding like a very old scratchy phonograph record, and then breaks into the best hi-fi shuffle fiddle intro these ears ever heard. I have listened to the first 40 seconds of that cut more times than I care to admit. Actually, I do care to admit.....as a matter of fact, I just went and listened to it again. Thanks Bobby.
A whole evening of shuffles? You bet...then take a break and do it again.
Aside to Bobbe:
Actually the math should be 25% more and not 20 but since you are well known for giving discounts on everything......we can accept the 20.

Well I got my weekly fix last night.Every tuesday night at the Finish Line club I go out and hear one of the ,if not, the best traditional bands in Texas. They go by the name "COUNTRY NIGHT LIVE" its traditional music in its finest state (which is Texas by the way, haha )Iam blowed away by the overall sound of these guys, there's more talent than should be allowed on one stage. Not only are they good players but they are extremely nice guys. These guys are the real deal and Iam proud to know them and call them my new friends.

Wade,
Hi ya man?
Flying time from S.A. is at least 12 -14 hours to New York, add another few to get to your gig and suddenly the picture changes. But, hang on, my friend (Peter) and I may just saddle a horse and pay you guys a visit during next year. I'll keep you posted.
Regards for now,
Nic
