I am fortunate enough to live a few miles from Bobby and was able to meet him before I took up steel guitar. I must have called Bobby 10 times asking him to look at guitars for me and asking other advice from him before I purchased one. Bobby always gave me the straight story and was always patient and helpful with me. Since I am now using the same electronics as Bobby, he has also been gracious enough to teach me about electronics and how to obtain a decent amount of tone with what I have to play on. To take it a step further, when I go to see Bobby play a gig, he never fails to sit at my table during one of his breaks and visit with me. I am careful not to ask to much about the steel when he is giging, as I know he probably gets tired of all my questions (although you couldn’t tell that in his attitude) , but I always seem to get some new knowledge being in his company. Bobby is tops in my book and one of the finest steel players there is around these parts, and I have found some good ones around Houston.…….James

Here! Here! Ferris hit it right on the Nail Head! I wrote a message about Bobby in this section somewhere not too long ago. Bobby rates right up htere with Buddy Emmons, John Hughey, Lloyd Green, Hal Rugg (RIP), in my book. When the good Lord made Bobby Bowman, he threw away the blue print!

Love you Bobby,
Gregg

Bobby is one of the finest guys I've ever had the pleasure of talking to. His wife is equally gracious. Wonderful people!
