Josh, your grandfather is a legend among steel players...in Canada or the US, and for you to have a better teacher would be most difficult...Good Luck

Ollie also plays bass, guitar, fiddle and lap steel. I know that Al Brisco and Steve Smith would add their name to the list of people who admire him as person as well as a great musician, but they're probably on the road.

Ollie Strong...that name sure sounded familiar so I searched through all my old lp's and found that ARC 511 disc ...(it's called "Sleepwalk")....he is playing with a guitarist named Kenny Hepburn. The album also has a drummer, bass player and pianist from what I can hear. Ollie sure looks very "young" to be a grandpa ! Image I think the pic on the album which shows him playing a Sho-Bud double neck pedal with his name scrolled across the front was taken when he was probably 17 or 18 years of age....(?) Image
