Rusty Young/Neil Young... brothers??

Post by Bob Carlucci »

I always though so, but I am not sure... I thought I read once in an interview with Rusty that he learned to write songs by watching Neil do it around the house when they were kids.. If they ARE,. they never mentioned or worked much with each other... does anyone know for certain??? .. DVA maybe??/ bob

I remember that interview.. Guitar Player maybe..I also recall a picture in one of Poco's albums. with a very young Rusty playing a quad Fender, and someone who looked an awful lot like a pre teen Neil playing fiddle... Maybe I'm crazy.. Does anyone REALLY know? bob

I read Neil Young's biography "Shakey" and there was no mention of Rusty. It's a common last name. I don't think that Rusty Young is even a Canadian.

Add it to the rumor that Jerry Garcia hooked up Rusty with POCO. (Rusty had played PSG on "Kind Woman" for Buffalo Springfield when "POGO" was just a gleam in Richie and Jimmy's eyes.) No truth in either, though they both have been printed as fact.
Unless as a sports writer, Neil's dad had an affair with a woman in Denver... Who can do DNA testing? ;-)
