Bob,

There is some good steel guitar music to be heard at Stovall’s Grove in Wildwood Missouri which is St. Charles County. You can get directions on their web site www.stovallsgrove.com . They have some of the best steel guitar players in our area playing there regularly every Friday and Saturday night. They start playing around 8:30 and play until 12:30am.

Check them out if you get the chance.

Thanks for all of the replies. It was kinda late when I finally got out last night so I decided to go to Stovall's Grove. The Missouri Valley Boys were playing and they sounded great. I introduced myself to they're steel player, Doug Rippeto, and he invited me to sit in. Doug has a Black Franklin D10 and I really enjoyed playing it. Stovall's Grove is a classic honkey tonk and everone there was real friendly. I would like to thank everyone in the band for making me feel right at home. I'll be back the next time I'm down this way.
