I just heard Travis Tritt's cut of the Waylon tune Lonesome, Ornery & Mean off of the new Waylon tribute album. Does anyone know who the steel player was ? It sounds just great, the best steel part I've heard on the radio in years, done in the Mooney style of course. I know Dan Duggmore did Travis' last album, maybe he did this cut also ?? This is a "must listen", in my opinion.

| Lonesome, Onry & Mean is a Steve Young tune, great song and I've never heard a version I didn't like. If you haven't heard the original w/ Buddy Emmons (my pick for all time favorite steel tune), try to find a copy of Steve Young's Renegade Picker album (late 70's & Buddy's all over it). |

For some really heart grabbing steel, listen also too " I Can't Be Myself" and "It's Not Supposed To Be That Way". One of my all time favorite albums.
This CD has been re-released and should still be available. Double CD coupled with his album "No Place To Fall"
