There are so many great players in the circle of friends that we have on this forum. All of them are great in their own right. I suppose some of them are more unique and maybe even gifted more than some of us. I'll have the memories of the ones that I played for, and the ones I got to listen to while on a package show in the 70's. In Lexington, KY while working with Dick Curless....I had the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with two of the best steeler's in the world; Little Roy Wiggins (w/ George Morgan) and George Edwards of the "Cheating Hearts Band for Hank Jr. What awesome players! How about J D Walters who played for Freddie Hart, or Jimmie Crawford with Miss Kitty Wells ( I still remember "A Ton Of Steel"). Lynn Owlsley worked with ET when they came to Port Huron MI and did a one night show at a sit-down gig that I was doing while traveling with Sleepy LaBeef....I could go on & on....but suffice it to say...that these players didn't get to play with those individuals had it not been that they were exceptionally talented, and could offer something to whomever they worked with or for........HAL HIGGINS

Whenever I'm playing with good musicians, friends all, playing good songs outdoors on a warm summer evening, I feel like I have the best steel job in the world.
