I have this one on one of Merle's Box sets' I believe. Is this the song where Merle sings "i'm gonna lay my head... on the cold railroad track, and let that 8:15 train pacify my mind?" or something of that sort?
I knew it rang a bell somewhere... It rattles around in my brain a bunch also.

It is likely you could have "The Last Letter" on that Haggard box set tho'. My favorite version of that song is the one recorded by him in 1977. I have it by 6 different artists(Connie Smith,Jack Greene,Merle Haggard,Waylon Jennings,Roy Drusky and Faron Young) but his is tops, IMHO.
