The only person I have heard play this on a recording was Johnny Cox. Years ago when I was on TV in Raleigh NC, this was a regular song with our band. I struggled to give it the expression it deserves but was never satisfied with my efforts. When I first heard Johhny's version, I said: That it how it is supposed to be !!

But like I Love You So Much It Hurts, the first time I heard it was by Jimmy Day on the Steel and Strings album. I thought then that it could never be played any better. And each time I heard someone else do it; Emmons, Hughey etc I said the same thing. At the convention I heard Tommy do it and it is true all over again. If he has recorded Think I'll Go Somewhere and Cry Myself To Sleep, then I for one want to hear it !!

Best Regards, Paul

I feel sure it was Tommy playing. However it must have been a tape from maybe ISGC or another show. But I'm only guessing. From what I gather Rich plays some never released tunes. At least I think that's the case with Buddy E.
