PSG in Osaka?

Post by David Rothon »

This is a long shot but here goes... I'm going to Japan next month and the friend I'm staying with in Osaka has got us a gig threre. Only problem is I need to hire/borrow/steal a pedal steel. Taking mine on the plane isn't practical, sadly. Do any of you know of any players there? Or anywhere to hire one?

Contact Mitsuo Fuji either through Scotty's site or Mitsuo's direct. He should be able to help you out. Good luck

Akira Kobayashi, who has played on the Dallas and St. Louis main stages for the last number of years, has a PSG Teaching Studio there in Osaka, Japan. He may very well have an extra psg to rent to you. He is a very nice gentleman.

His email: studioe9th@hat.hi-ho.ne.jp

I played Osaka three years ago and had many steel players come to the shows. The steel club there is the "Kinsai" club. Be nice and they might give you a great "T" shirt also! You shouldn't have any trouble getting a steel there.I did have trouble getting a tuning wrench to fit a P-P though. They furnished amps also, anything you want,Ray Flack got a Fender Twin, I got two old Peaveys, and were great. Good luck, drive on the wrong side of the road and just eat the spaggetti. You'll love Japan! Traffic is weird though, no road rage at all!
