Hi y'all.

I need a last generation "native" Mac OS 9 disc.
I can't completly ween to OS X for all things.
But my OS 9 Install disk is inop.
The emulation version for OS X isn't a workable solution either.
It's also OS 9.0 not a much later generation,
so I must go through 3 iterations of updates
to get to my final version.
I'm trying to cut short that process.

Should be compatible with the twin processor machine too.

Thanks, this is a difficult thing to find... especially in Thailand...

This is dupl;icated in Want To Buy, but not with auto email notification.

David-
I'll check but it might be rough... Can I upload a good and working System Folder for you?
If you have a decent internet connection and some place with about 250MB of space you could just copy it down and drop it in.
I still use OS 9 for some things and haven't actually installed from a CD in years.

I'll look for a CD anyway.
Let me know...

David.. I am making an "Image" file of my 9.2.? and will upload it to my site for you to download.
Although I'm 4mb broadband, my UPLOAD speed is capped to 512kps so it may take a couple of hours to upload. Still quicker than "Snail-Mail" 'though..

I presume that you're referring to a twin processor G4 ?
I don't think G5s will run OS9, only emulate !! from within OSX.

Basil you're a prince!!!

Yes it is a G4 twin.
One of the last to run native and emulation.

The G5 also only runs newer generation PCI cards, 3 volt, while all mine are 5 volt,
so I can't switch over to that without buying
a whole new system... DRAT.

I have a 2 meg ADSL. so not too bad to DL this.
About a 40 minutes it seems

Viva la Forum!

Still about 5 hours to go ... When it gets to 701Mb you can get it then . It's going at 15.6 Kbs !!!!
I can't understand why they cap the UPLOAD speed, I can DL at 4Mb
I'll Post when it's done, That's if I'm not on my way to London later today to pick up a Stringmaster Triple ... Yippee

I also have Twin Processor G4 and a Twin G5, I Use the G5 with Logic 7.2 to stay compatible with the studios and the BBC stuff, BUT I retained the G4 because I also use the older non compatible version of Logic audio as I have ALL the Waves and other necessary plug-ins. They aren't supported in OSX..
I am quite conversant with "Autotune" and find that Melodyne and the generic Mac. pitch correction plug-ins are not as transparent., Also, at an initial cost of over $2,000 the waves platinum/Gold bundle I have isn't going to be upgraded..

If for some reason this doesn't work, I can send you a copy of the 9.x.x OS via Royal Mail Courier, let me have your address (Just in case)

Well I am almost recovered from the birthday party,
and the official "sound coming from studio" debut.

I will have to DL this late tonight, we had 3 AC units, 2 fans, a fridge, and the ~Genelec system all going last night... and it shut down the l;ine COMING to the house, not just the AC breakers....

But the landlord's brother cam and got it running in 15 minutes.

Still untill sunday afternoon when they come to put in a BIGGER mains and transformer for my house I will not trust the power too much.

Bs your reasons for not switching over completely are very close to mine.
If it runs use it.
Gotta get Logic's latest for sure.
The cost of replacing all my Waves is a major issue too.
Thabnks I let you know what's happening.

Regretfully no... DRAT.
It wants a twin processor enabled version.
I am on the trail of a last generation "Golden Install" disk
that will install on any hardawre.

I await...
Bas you're still a prince!

Not only DRAT, but botheration, 'dash it' and the curse of the 'Seven Snotty Orphans' upon it !!
we will peruse a little and see what we can unearth !!

Triple DRAT
Caderack and offendicum...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talked with Apple they sent me to dealers who were clueless.

I got a high end video systems Mac dealer,
they got me Panther and what should have been a Universal boot dic for OS 9.2.2

Also a last generation for Mix sytem version of Protools
( still waiting on iLock delivery)
And full Finalcut Studio upgrade,

Same same,
OS 9 disc will boot and run mac BUT
it won't run the installer on my TWIN CPU Mac....

I am close to apoplectic... this after a flight to Bangkok to get it,
and buying a APC 5 kilowatt power back up,
also in delivery mode still.

Oh yeah, Logic won't run on then version of OS X that my hardware will run on.
Logic to talk to Protools is only on 10.4
but my mix hardware will only run on 10.3

Why does it look like my house design will get smaller, because I MUST get new hardware and beaucoupe softwar upgrades.

All for want of a U9.2.2 install disc for a twin CPU Mac...
