OK OK you guys have talked me into trying it out! LOL The local Mom and Pop store got one last month and I am going to have to go try it out soon. He did tell me that I could take the amp to the next KSGA meeting that I could attend. I have a Nashville 1000 and have been gigging with it for 3 years now. Prior to that it was session amps. Before session amps I used fenders. So here I go! I will let you know how it goes.

Ok I tried it yesterday. Set both amps side by side. I fell in love with the sound the steel king gave me. Took very little tweaking to get what I have been looking for. No matter how hard I tried I could not get my amp to sound like that. So alas I am going to have to put the funds together to get one. I will be bringing the steel king to the next KSGA meeting so everyone can play with it. WARNING!!! This amp causes your wallet to get lighter!

Funny thing is, I don't really need an amp, but after spending some time reading, I'm suddenly convinced I either need a Nashville 112, or a Steel King, or I'll sound like hell,...and this is just after I purchased a black box, mind you.

Played a Steel King yesterday at Billy Coopers Music in Culpeper Virginia. I used my GFI D-10. I was really impressed with how easy it was to dial in the sound. I really liked the midrange controls. I think any steel player would be able to get their preferred sound from this amp. |
