Has anyone tried running a profex or transtubefex thru a Peavey Bass amp?

I have....... but not a "Peavey".

An older model..... Fender Silverface unit.
Sounded GRRREEEAAATTT !!!!!

Of course, It's not my favorite way, but it did work and saved a other-wise disaster.

Sonny, I played through a Peavey Mega bass amp at home for a while. This was a pretty versatile setup, it has a built in crossover to run to high and low speakers, an effects loop and lots of power. If I remember right, it also had low inpedance XLR preamp outs for recording or going direct into a board.

This is a great idea if you like the fat-full "Chalker-type" tones. If you tend to like the more "commercial-type" sounds, though, you'll be disappointed. The bass amps (almost always a closed-back design) really add to to bottom end, but they generally don't do well on the high end. For awhile, I used a Peavey TNT bass amp, along with a stomp-box reverb, and the sound was quite impressive (almost organ-like), but it wasn't commercial...the bass player wasn't too crazy about it, either!
