I have a Peavey ProFex II and I was wondering how long the battery last in them.I have had it for about two years and I use it a couple hours a day.It was used when I got it from the Guitar Center in South Attleboro Mass.I payed $79.95 for it so I guess I got a steel Ha.Any Info would be Appreciated.

| Mine was still going strong after ten years of constant work - I had it changed just to be on the safe side, but I never once saw that 'Low Battery' display..... |

Got mine in Feb. of '94,& it's still goin' strong. (now that I've said that,watch it "dump" on me tom'w.)

| Well, they last a long time and usually start "gassing" or leaking all over the circuit board before they give you a low battery warning. I have changed over 40 batteries this year in Profex, Transtubefex, Tubefex, Autograph and MidiStreamer units. I just changed one out in my Midi-Streamer that was about 3 years old, already starting to grow blue fuzz (gassing) on one end of the battery! Just open the top (six screws to remove, one front and rear and two on each end) and have a look inside! It is blue or aqua colored, about the size of an old Root Beer Barrel candy. It is soldered to the board. I do so so many of these that I order 12 batteries at a time from my vendor! |

| I thought two of my Peavey Autographs were fine a few years back. Much to my surprise both had to have the circuit boards replaced due to leakage. Never once got a "Low Battery " warning. The batteries were never "Low", just leaking all over the place! Batteries tend to gas (grown blue fuzz on one end) before they leak. Subjecting them to freezing temperatures will often break the battery case, that happened to my Autographs one year after both were repaired! Guess what, I had two more new circuits boards put in again! I learned my lesson after that, look inside every few years and make sure they are OK. |
