What are the specific risks I'm running by using my Session or Vegas 400's for guitar gigs where I'll be using a lot of distortion? Will that ruin them for their intended use as steel amps? I sold my Twin and now these are the only high powered amps I've got left. Sometimes I've been called on to play everything from Tube Screamer blues gigs to Hard Rock stuff and I'm wondering if I should find some other amp for those gigs?

Even though these amps are designed essentially as "clean" steel amps, it doesn't mean that they won't perform well under your conditions. As long as you are using an effects device like a Tube Screamer, the amps should perform well for you.......................and they have a lot of power.

I recommend that you adjust the PRE GAIN control below a setting of 5 and the POST GAIN to a setting above 5.

Let me know if you have other questions and I'll be glad to assist. When and if you get ready for a good guitar amp, check these out; http://www.peavey.com/products/amps_mi/

Thanks Mike, yeah if I ever need to invest in a full time rock rig I'm thinking a 5150 might be the way to go. That's all I need though, one more distraction from becoming a decent steel player
