| I just aquired a 91 Peavey PRO-FEX effects pre-amp. Would like to hear recommendations for setting up effects and parameters. I'm using it with a Nashville 1000. Look forward to hearing your comments! |

I guess I'm about to show my lack of paying attention....... but, I thought the "Nashville 1000" had a built-in effects package. If this is true, why do we need to drive it with a "Profex II" ?????
Please dont get me wrong here,I have a "Profex II" I use in a rack-mount system. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
(BTY) I find useing any setting beween A-0 and A-26 will cover 90% of playing needs)
Now while I haven't roadtested a "1000", I have heard them on several occasions and thought they sounded good.

The 2000 has the built in effects. Do you have the Newman settings in yours? I think Bill was referring to thoses settings.
As the sound of the Nashville 1000 is much different than the Nashville 400, you might have to tweek the settings a little to your taste. It's not hard to do, if you need a manual it is available on the Peavey site.
If you don't have the Newman settings, find someone with a card to load them in for you, they are great.
Just a side note, pull the top off (six screws) and take a look at your battery (blue or aqua colored). Make sure it is not leaking or growing blue fuzz on one end. If it is, it's time to replace it. |

| I had forgot about the early one, good call on that one. I know you can not midi the system exclusive dump from a Profex II to a Tubefex or other device (I tried it, won't work, the Device ID for the Profex II stops the other device from reading the message). I was able to use a card from a Profex II and dump the Newman settings into a Tubefex. Just thought that might interest someone. Best of luck on the Profex. I think Jack Stoner has the Newman settings on his site for print-out. It would be easy enough to manually enter some of the useful settings. Pete, if you can obtain a RAM cartridge and send it to me here at Peavey, I'll be glad to load the Profex II steel(assumming that you have a Profex II and not the original Profex)presets on your cartridge if you will send it to me. Our address is;

Pete, check the Jeff Newman Profex II programs on my web site. I think they will work, or mostly work, on your older ProFex. You can download the listing for reference.
