No friends, no new recordings, but rather the early, pre Little Darling sides for Decca, Mercury, Starday and Todd lables on this new Bear Family cd called Shakin' The Blues ( which has to be among the greatest songs ever come out of Nashville ). Lots of great steel here too, even though there are no session details, I'm sure I hear Jack Evins, Jimmy Day and Buddy Emmons there, need I say more!!?.

When someone mentions Johnny most thinks right away about ,Take this job,IMO he never got the credit for what he could do to a ballard, the emotion he could put in a ballad ,got me misty eyed many times.

Johnnys ballads were great. His "I Did the Right Thing", "Old Violin" and "For a Minute There" are just a few of the songs that made him great. I even have a Gospel album he did.
