CD titled "Dayna Wills, Bob's Sister Helen's Kid Vol l". Pure Class, Western Swing with a smidgen of classic country and a touch of Jazz, Dayna is a very gifted singer with a voice as smooth as a delta morning and can get as hot and sultry as a summer afternoon in Georgia. This CD is great for listening and playing along. Awesome band. Tom Morrell, music director, Bobby Garcia - Guitar, Bobby Mcbay - Bass, Tommy Perkins - Drums, Larry Pierce - Piano, Billy Briggs - Tenor Sax and Tommy Morrell - Steel. The lead guitar and steel are really hot! This is a good one folks!
Songs are TROUBLE IN MIND, ROSETTA, LAST LETTER (oh yes!) BLUES FOR DIXIE (for us delta guys)IF SHE"S MOVING IN, A YEAR AGO TONIGHT, SUGAR MOON,MY WINDOW FACES THE SOUTH, I WONT BE BACK TONIGHT AND FADED LOVE (Uncle Bob never did it this good). I echo what Billy said about Dayna and the musicians fine work on this album.
One correction though, the guitarist was HOF'er "Benny Garcia".
I can't find the CD Jacket, but I seem to remember that western swing fiddler "Amos Hedrick" also played on this CD.

Sorry Gene and Dayna, I was WRONG again, the guitarist is BENNY GARCIA and I left out AMOS HEDRICK on fiddle.
It's a senior thing I think. |
