What did you all think of Terri Clarks performance on the Opry 3-1-03?

Frank,

I didn't see the t.v. spot, but I heard her on the 10:30 spot on my way home from pulling a triple on Broad yesterday and I thought she sang her butt off.
I don't like hardly anybody from the new generation but, I do like what I hear in her voice although I don't care for everything she puts out.
The band wasn't bad either but the engineer didn't help them in the mix. The steel was hot though at least he won't get cussed out for that on here.LOL

The sound was poor - 'though she and the band seemed to be faithfully replicating the record, it lacked any depth, and, in my opinion, put her at a disadvantage. I also felt the tempo was a little rushed, but I could be wrong - the band seemed to get off on the wrong foot, somehow...

Y'all ever wonder what Terri would look like with her hat off? I meaqn, is she bald-headed like Dwight Yoakum, or is it a trademark, like George Strait(who may be bald, yoo, I don't know) or what? She's a good-looking ol' gal, sings pretty good, can't drive drunk without getting caught-----
BUT WHAT DOES SHE LOOK LIKE WITHOUT THE HAT?

WOW! Terry is beatiful. But you what... My attention always seems to drift to Jenee. I think her stage presence is great. I don't know why but it always happens.

Congrats on the gig Jenee.

By the way, who is the steel player?

Richard--
You're too kind! Winking Terri is a wonderful lady and I feel honored to be working with her. She is so "real" if you know what I mean.
And the steel player is Kevin Post. (He plays slide guitar as well). I think he checks out the forum now and then...maybe you can catch him!

Hi Janee'. Terri is a good singer but I too went to you. I was so happy to see you there. I said early on that one day I would see you on the Opry and there you were. I know it wasn't the first time but it was the first time I got to see you. Say hello to mom for me when you talk to her. We miss you here in Tulsa.

Jenee, the Dallas show is this coming weekend, will you have any time in your schedule to drop by? It won't be the same without you.

Well, thanks, Ms. Keener. Your fiddling is great, love your stuff with Larry Cordle! You gonna work the road with him?

Doyle-Great to hear from you! I'll tell Mom you said 'hello'...I told her that she'll still have to make these conventions even if I can't go. I miss you, too!

Jim-Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make the Dallas show. This will be the first TSGA show I've missed since I started playing it...

Stephen-Thanks a bunch! I'm not working the road w/ Larry...wish I could! I played w/ him for about a year right after I moved to town. I still play w/ him at the Station Inn when I am in town. I was in the studio w/ them the other day...(we cut a whole album of Lynard Skynard songs...bluegrass style!) I think people will really enjoy it...www.larrycordle.com...they should keep it updated.

Have a goodern' everyone!

Love,
~JK

I really like Terry's new song and it appeared that either the mix or something was not quite right. Maybe slightly off pitch..not sure..

I was glad to see her and the band on stage , I mean on TV stage...

PS, those photo's above of Terry, who's the gal without the hat ?

Just kidding, she looks great with or without the hat.

Tony-Just to let you know; somehow the timing was changed (of the show) and we were not notified...we thought we had about 4 minutes to be ready to play when we only had 90! Needless to say, we were all scrambling around getting stuff hooked up, etc. We were a little 'shook'...

still had a blast!

I think if Terri tried or wanted to she would be a top contender for parade of belly buttons. I would even enjoy the show...
