John Macy,
You gave me an idea today. You know how many traditional artists were let go in recent years after only one or two albums? Well, i think combining forces would be a benefit to both singers and consumers.

Imagine two artists cut an album or EP, it could be 7 songs, 9 songs, whatever. Each singer does a song in succession, then ends the recording with a duo/duet. Kind of like a call and answer format. Not so much a challenge, but to compliment each other. Singer A does cut 1, Singer B cut 2, and so on til the final cut. I would favor 7 songs myself. It could be two males, two females, or male and female.

I guess Moe and Joe did this but they were more of a gag entertainment concept. I'm talking about serious recording.

Any opinions on this?

I'm thinking

Sammy Kershaw and George Straight

Alan Jackson and Leanne Rimes

George Jones and Trisha Yearwood

Garth and Allison Krause

Merle and Faith

One CD...I'd buy it

Thanks for replying, randy. Actually, i'm not much of a fan of duets. I was just meaning as a capper to an album shared by two artists. But you are entitled to your idea too.

eric, I've got this real bad habit of interpreting a post however it lands in my thought processes. I don't mean any harm by it but when something gets triggered in my head I think, just because it makes sense to me, it will someone else. If you look at who I put together you can sort of see how it is connected to your post.

Kinda wierd ain't it
