I believe this is a one hour show with no opry backstage. These times are centrel
7:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Jimmy Dickens, Jean Shepard, Bill Carlisle, Mike Snider

7:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Jeannie Seely, Osborne Brothers, The Whites, Bryan White

WHAT! NO GARTH BROOKS? IS HE RETIRED ALREADY?

Anyway It is worth it just to see 90 year old Bill Carlilse.

You can bet George Riddle will be there backing him up.I don't know if Bill is the oldest to grace the GOO stage ,I believe it would be himself or Herman Crook..Good triva Question anyone know ? Thanks Jan for the Update.

It seemed like a great mix of treditional carols and pop classics.

Jimmy Dicken's the holidays are great times for a family reunion but maby not a barbicue.

Bill Carlisle keep the audience attention as he worked his way thru Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer.

Jean Shepard was streight forward with her version of Oh Come All ye Faithful.

The Osborne brothers kept up the bill Monroe tredition of a performence of Christmas times a Comin.

The Whites may sing in the same key as Emmy Lou Harris, but the steel parts jazz it up.

Next on stage was Bryan White with great versions of Let it Snow and the Christmas song. Randle you looked great and I noticed
you were playing C6. Glad to see Bryan introduce his band also.
The finale was an all cast singing of Silent Night

Ho Hum pretty good till it got to Bryan White part. Oh well maybe by next year he will be doing the other kind of music or even retired or just plain gone away. Some one said he was from Canada maybe they will take him back

I loved the sound of the band behind Bryan White. Big wooden electric guitars, upright bass, grand piano, C6th Zum, and drums mixed just right (low!). Everyone was playing so tasty.

Bryan's no Mel Torme, but I can see why the girls flip for him. He's a good looking kid with a good, identifiable voice.

Jimmy Dickens is always one of my favorites.

It seemed like everyone had a different steel player. I saw at least four. Can anyone name them all?

I like Bryan White. He may not be as country as Ernest Tubb but he does good with what he sings. He doesn't get way far out like most. He has a great road band and is obviously proud of them as he does showcase them every chance he gets. Randle Currie did great last night but then, he always does.

I'm with you Mike. I think Bryan White is one of the BEST young talents in the business, with a great steeler BTW. I think he gets a bad rap here on the forum. He is certainly one of the most "musical" of all the current crop of young singers. His pitch and phrasing are impeccable and are reminicsent of his idols, Steve Wariner and Glen Campbell. So, just to summarize;
You're mad at Garth because you don't think he's country, and he didn't do the show.
You're mad at Bryan White because you don't think he's country, and he did
do the show...
Yup. You guys should be runnin' the place.

With the music being guided along by your clear and constructive criticism, I'm sure the place would be full every night.

p.s. I wouldn't care if the guy sang the bloody Gregorian Chant, as long as Randle Currie was gonna steel for him. But that's just me.
