Country Christmas Recordings
My favorite radio station here in Central Wisconsin... AM 800 Classic Country...
is putting all of the Country Christmas recordings... new and old..... into heavy rotation.
It's great.
If you like... go ahead and name some of your all time favorites...

I have many great country Christmas CD's buy guys like Alan Jackson, George Strait, Ricky Van Sheldon, Vince Gill, Clint Black, Paul Franklin, Buddie Emmons, and of course Merle Haggard.
Personally, AJ's Honky Tonk Christmas is a favorite of mine.
We'll have a house full tomorrow night and I'll have CD players upstairs and down shuffling those as well as my wife’s non-country Christmas CD’s; gotta have Bing Crosby in the mix.

Nancy Sinatra's "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" has a neat dixie land jazz break done with steel guitar and fiddles...
Gene Autry and Rosemary Cloney's "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" is a good one too.
more later....<p ALIGN=CENTER><FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b">[This message was edited by Mike Dennis on 12-08-99]</FONT></P>

I still like the old song "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" This song was the first Christmas song I remember hearing steel guitar in. The original version came out about 1952, and featured Jimmy Boyd. Jimmy was very young when this was recorded, and later he was a popular actor in TV. The last thing I can remember him doing was "Bachelor Father" in 1958.
