Don,
Tis otay! I think we all know where you were comming from.
ASH,
What difference does it make??? That has absolutely no bearing on his music, or how YOU should view it or him.
You mean to tell me that you would change your feeling about a musician that in your own words you have always like, because of their sexual preference that has no bearing on you??
This is not only the 90's but the dawn of a new Millennium, wake up and smell the coffee!! Do what makes you happy and let others do the same without being critiqued by you.

This seems very unlikely to me.
Some men who are very secure in their masculinity will joke about being gay. It's a tawdry sort of humor, to be sure, but Buck is not known for refinement. If he said he was gay on TV, he was probably joking around to get a rise out of someone. The guy's relationships with women are legendary.

Actually Don, I echo your sentiments on this. I got to meet Buck one time and thought he was an a$$hole, but that never had any bearing on my love for his music. I even joke around with friends about being gay, but that's all it is, Joking around.

As Bill Kirchen says 'Peace & Twang'.
Don't sweat it Ash, the way I see it is that you were shocked that someone would come out and say they were something that they had never portrayed themselves as for their very public life.
I didn't see any lifestyle judgements whatsoever, and in answer to your question, I hadn't heard that at all. So I can't say, but Buck's got that weird ol' sense of humour, say I could imagine him saying that tounge in cheek.
Remember how everyone got all worked up how John Lennon said that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus, when it had been taken out of context. He was talking in an interview about the whole fame and Beatlemania thing, and was saying it was ridiculous that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus.
Things can get heard out of context on T.V all the time, why just watch a current affairs program..
* At this point if I knew how I would do one of those Smiley faces!!!
