Magnatone amp and Lap-Steel

Post by Bob Parins »

Hey Forum readers-

I'm selling a matching bakelite Amplifier and Lap-Steel Guitar made by Magnatone. Both pieces appear to be in original condition. This is a really cute set. I've never seen a matching set like this still together.

I've got it on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10171&item=7309574232&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Feel free to call me with any questions. 347 204 1034
Thanks steelers,

Just curious but what makes you think these are "bakelite"? I thought these were wood covered with MOTS plastic. If it's bakelite it would weigh quite a bit. How much does it weigh?

Hey guys-

Thanks for your input. Sounds like you know more about it than I do. The person who I bought it from told me that's what it was...Thanks again,

Can you imagine what a Bakelite Magnetone would sound like? I can't.

You might want to change your listing on ebay.

Bob, this is the first Magnatone ive seen listed. My first elect., steel was a magnatone lap steel, {wish I had it now.} But my orig., music teacher, [who is still living} gave me the orignal magnatone 8 string lap that he taught us on. He refinished it "Bad Job" but Im keeping it for a keepsake. Just thought Id throw this in.
thanks , John
