Don't Ruin it For The Rest of Us

Post by Tony Chavez »

This tune was cut by Joe Nichols and Mark Chesnutt both. And,both versions have C6th playing on both cuts.Since I'm playing strictly E9th,I want my playing to sound more jazzy/Swingy on the E9th.Any help would do,including just chords for the verses and Chorus. The two versions sound in the same key.Joe Nichols Album "Revelations".Mark Chesnutts Album "Saving The Honky Tonks"Any help would be great and I do mean any help. Thanks Tony

I have not heard the Mark Chestnutt version but I just picked up the Joe Nichols CD. This will be released as a single, so I'm pretty sure we will be playing it.

Tommy White does the C6 work on this and it is flat "pin your ears to the wall" good. I'm going to delve into it over the next couple of weeks when I get a chance. If memory serves, Tommy uses a non standard C6 setup. I doubt I will be able to nail this dead on but I'm hoping to come close.

All you monster C6 guys should listen to this and see what you come up with.
