We have a new song on YouTube

Post by Wally Moyers »

I wanted to share a video of a song that LaTronda and I put together a good while ago. While it's not a steel instrumental, I did put some steel on it as needed. The lyrics of this song were written by LaTronda and her niece Natalie in 1991 when LaTronda was looking for material for her album project she and her brother, Lloyd Maines were working on. She never actually got around to putting it to music until years later, when in 1997, she and I were married. One night, not long after our son, Brady was born in 99, I was having trouble sleeping and started playing my guitar, just trying to relax, when a musical idea came to me with some cords and a melody. The next morning I played it for LaTronda and said, we need to write some lyrics for this. She immediately went to her song file and got the lyrics she had filed away years before. After she learned the melody, LaTronda added the lyrics to the melody, they fit perfectly without changing a thing! Its amazing how Gods plans come together sometimes.. We had a commercial studio so recorded a demo of the song with guitar and vocal then ask our friend, Jay Lemon to add some piano. Jay is a gifted musician, his piano arrangement was the perfect touch it needed. I added a few string pads and a guitar solo then we shot this video. Back then, there was no social media or YouTube so we never did anything with it. Recently we got the nudge from our son Breck that we needed to get it out there. After thinking about it, we decided not to reshoot the video but use the original and to just freshen up the track by redoing the guitar, and adding a little steel guitar and remix the audio. It's a special song to us with a great message, I hope you enjoy it,

It's the first video on my page with her photo on it.
