I need two Sperzel tuning gears....

Post by Bob Metzger »

Hi,
I'm renovating a 1980 Sho-Bud Super Pro and I need two Sperzel tuning gears (bass side) for this steel. It sat for a while and the permanent lubrication inside the enclosed housing has hardened to the point that the gears are almost non-functional, very difficult to turn. I've been on the phone to Sperzel but they are not much help and have no back stock of these pedal steel tuning gears which are no longer made.

I know I could add a Joe Blow tuning gear to this steel but my first choice is to try and find these Sperzels, if possible and keep my steel as original as possible (except for the strings).

Anyway, if anyone has a spare Sperzel (bass side) or two in their junk drawer, please send me a PM.
Thanks,
Bob M.
