New Paul Franklin Course...$19!

Post by Tom Spaulding »

"Intro To Modes"

Create interesting modal sounds on the E9 tuning that will broaden your playing and improve your harmonic vocabulary.

Paul first demonstrates the Modes all in one position in one key (C Major), then in all 7 positions on different frets starting on the same Root.

Paul also explains the "Derivative Approach" where you can view Modes as modifications of the parent Major Scale.

To help you get the Modes under you fingers and into your ears, we've included downloadable Practice Tracks and sample chord progressions to play along with.

Click the "intro To Modes" link above for more details!

I've been thinking about this stuff over the past few years and have only heard Doug Jernigan and Paul Franklin talking about it. I think this is a great way to approach the neck in diferent ways and creating new patterns to play in and out of. It's great that Paul is teaching this.

I have been working on this course for a couple of weeks. I have found the application of the information about "Modes" in general and how it is applied to the PSG, in specific, helpful and interesting. I expect that my new understanding of Modes, applied to PSG will increase the versatility of my playing, for sure.

The price is a little out of reach, though. (/sarc off) :-) HA!
