Nashville 1000 - humming reverb
After several years of using my Fender amps with steel, I decided to return my old Peavey Nashville 1000. It worked perfectly last time I used it, but now the reverb causes a very loud humming noise (proportional to the amount of reverb). I actually prefer my Boss RV-5 to the built-in reverb, so no biggie, but has anyone encountered the same problem? Would it be expensive to have an amp tech fix it?

It’s most probably the reverb chip in the amp or the filter caps for the reverb section

Try unplugging and cleaning the reverb connection at the amp. Those pins can oxidize and the poor contac will cause hum. I replaced the reverb pan on mine for other issues but its quiet as a mouse.

I'll try that first, and otherwise just use the RV-5... Thanks!
