Habanera from Carmen, jazzed up

Post by Mike Neer »

This is demo I made (one of three different demos for this piece, all different styles) for Habanera from Bizet’s opera Carmen. This particular arrangement is closer to what I am going for with my current project. I played all the instruments but drums, and I look forward to playing and ultimately recording this with my band.

The video was of the first take but the audio ended up being a different take. I left the accidental bar drop in though.

Thanks for sharing Mike! I like how you are taking steel guitar to genres with which it's not usually associated.

Thanks, Tim. I made a commitment to playing steel guitar, it just so happens that I don’t really gravitate towards playing the music normally associated with it, at least when I am the boss.
