There should be a convention/gathering/shindig for lap steelers.
I think by now there are prolly just as many of us as there is pedal players.

Hey Stephen!

Thanks for sharing!

Is Doug playing this year? I love all the straight steel performances you got of him playing in past years at the TSGA.
Aloha,

Mike K

Here's Steve Palusek and Joe Wright tearing it up.... Joe slipped and used a few pedals, but at least Steve was there to make it legit. Steve made that guitar, see his other set where he talks about it.

Here's Steve Palousek's first set, with wife Donna singing a few. Steve made this guitar... I thought 'oh, a Clinesmith' but it's actually his own design... he describes it some during the set. Enjoy!

My apologies for being unfamiliar, but where is the TSGA held?

Looks like a lot of fun, and I'd like to attend some day.

Well, you bein' in the land of 'mahalo' 'aloha', etc it's in the land of 'howdy yall!'. Dallas texas first full weekend in March I believe... a short shuttle ride from the DFW airport. Check the Events section here for the announcement. Better book a room in October if you want to be in the event hotel, which is recommended... always sells out. Just got upstairs from a ripping session by Sarah Jory on pedal steel... always a favorite here. Hope to see you here!

Thanks Joe... everyone should make it at least once... so you can get hooked on it and come again! My first visit in years.... saw many friends, made many new friends... even used a Jedi Mind Trick to get Herb Steiner to comp my meal! Probably won't work a second time... so I told him I'll get the next one.
