You've Got to Let the Fire Burn Out song?

Post by Jerry Overstreet »

A tune I heard the other day. Don't know if that's the title but those lyrics are in there somewhere such as you got to let the fire burn out. Nice tonk shuffle with some nice pedal steel. I didn't get the artist's name and I believe it's an older song from yesteryear.

Looked all over the internet, didn't find anything with those lyrics.

It's not Strait's Fire I Can't Put Out.

Anybody know about this?

Thanks for looking Richard but that's not it. I believe it's an older tune. Shuffle beat and the lyric is something like "you have to or you've got to let the fire burn out".

I'm guessing maybe 60s or 70s era of good country shuflles. Wish I had caught the name or title.

Can't remember where I heard it. Maybe on Sirius or possibly Steelradio.org.

Yessir. Bill Kirchen. Thanks Richard. I remembered it as a shuffle so I was half right. 1999, so not as old as I thought, but still that traditional sound. Must be a Texas production.

Great song and band. I read Bobby Flores on fiddle and our forum brother Tommy Detamore on steel.

Thanks again.

You're welcome. I can find anything on the internet, sometimes stuff that's not there.

Definitely a Texas record.

Yeah, Raisin' a Ruckus album. Cherry Ridge. Floresville. No wonder it's so good.
