Gold Tone lap steel

Post by Tom Harmon »

I have a Gold Tone 8 string lap steel.
What can anyone tell me about it.
I did a search on here and didn't find anything.

A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.

Even though it’s made in China, it is a really nice instrument. Made to resemble an Oahu Tonemaster from back in the day.

I swapped out the pickup of mine for a Lollar Chicago which was a good move. I find that the volume knob under my picking hand is a bit of a nuisance. Other than that, pretty good.

I am a fan of Gold Tone instruments. I have a 6 string lap steel of theirs and like Guy, replaced the pick up with a Lollar. It sounds great.
