A fully chambered, electric lap steel with unique features really make this instrument stand out. The 2 pickup configuration allows for a nice blend and mix of tones. Whether its creamy overdrive or sparkling clean, the sustain and clarity is what this instrument is about. Looking for a little hollow body feed back on your lap steel? Need a little more “air” in your tone? These are points well made with this new instrument. By running the instrument in its stereo setting, the player can adjust the amount of overdrive and clean tones, blending them together and making truly unique combinations of sounds. Each pickup can be routed to its own amplifier, via a stereo “Y” cable. Each pickup has its own dedicated volume and tone controls. The mini toggle switch selects between stereo and mono capabilities. The bridge is 1/2″ thick and inlaid into the top, and bolted on through the back.

Nice!! I actually think that my Bonham Redwood/Maple/Ebony Parlor Twins come close...one deep Reso with Weissenborn neck and Fishman bridge pickup, and one electric thin line stereo archtop with string-through and Fishman bridge pickup...

Those are very nice!

My personal favorites are still probably Chuck Moore's work...imagine blending the aesthetics of a particularly lovely weissenborn (curly koa and rope binding) but with a frypan or panda format. His ukes have unbelievable inlay work.

Here's my submission for most beautiful. I purchased it from a fellow on ebay that had highly customized his Rickenbacker model 100 with Art Nuevo carving and inlays. I generally don't gig with it but I do take it off the wall and play it occasionally.

Just joshin'! If I've ever seen a more garish Gibson than the one pictured above, I can't remember it. The Scott Walker Custom is awesome.

Here's my submission for most beautiful. I purchased it from a fellow on ebay that had highly customized his Rickenbacker model 100 with Art Nuevo carving and inlays. I generally don't gig with it but I do take it off the wall and play it occasionally.

That's a cool art guitar, and the first lap steel art guitar I've seen! Did the guy you got it from do others? Are you aware of any from other builders/artists?

Jack's gaudy Gibson qualifies as an art guitar, but it's more of the homegrown primitive art type.
